Info | Alderman Anthony A. Beale became one of the youngest members to serve as elected official on the City of Chicago's City Council in 1999. Having been born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Alderman Beale was no stranger to the conditions endured by residents of the Roseland Community thereby making him the more qualified candidate to represent the people of the neighborhood. Working with the knowledge that open communication, dedication to service, forward thinking and planning are essential elements in providing residents, businesses and community organizations with stellar representation, Alderman Beale has spearheaded the resurgence of the 9th Ward of the City of Chicago.
Alderman Anthony A. Beale has taken tremendous steps to revitalize the Roseland Community and has plans to work harder to strengthen the area economically. In an effort to make the 9th Ward a safer place to work and live, he has:
Created the 9th Ward Business Advisory Board which prescreens all new businesses wanting to relocate or establish themselves within the 9th Ward.
Restructured and revitalized the Roseland Little League, making history by hosting the 2007 Little League State Championship for the first time in over 25 years.
Participated in marches against violence, crimes and drugs; and
Orchestrated the drive to ban liquor license sales in the 9th Ward.
Since his inception as Alderman of the 9th Ward, the Honorable Anthony A. Beale has served the community, as well as the City of Chicago in several capacities. He has taken part in various civic organizations, including the the Board for Redevelopment of the Roseland area; was President of the 100th Street of Prairie Block Club of Roseland; and served as Acting Vice President of the United Block Club of Roseland. Additionally, Alderman Beale is an active member of the Rosemoor Community Association, the 5th District Advisory Committee, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS), Roseland Redevelopment Ad Hoc Committee and Salem Baptist Church.
Alderman Beale is the former Chairman of the the Committees on Landmarks and Public Safety (Police & Fire). Currently, Alderman Anthony A. Beale is the presiding Chairman of the Committee on Transportation & Public Way. He is a member of the following City Council Committtees:

Education & Child Development
Finance
Public Safety
On a personal note, Alderman Anthony A. Beale remains a resident of the Roseland community with his wife Dana and their three children.
