InfoJoe Micon has been Executive Director of the Lafayette Urban Ministry since October of 1990. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Sociology from Purdue University (1980) and a Master of Social Work Degree from Indiana University (1983). He is past President of the Warren County Council, serves on the Benton Community School Corporation's Textbook Adoption Committee, the Vision 2020 Education Roundtable, the Education Committee of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce's Third House, and the Warren County Child Protection Team. He has served on the Editorial Board of the Lafayette Journal and Courier, and on the Indiana Family and Social Service Administration's Select Welfare Reform Advisory Council.

His wife Jo is a therapist at Purdue's Counseling and Psychological Services and is Coordinator of the University's Drug and Alcohol Treatment Program. They have 2 children, Katie 12, and Jonathan 8, who attend Otterbein Elementary School. Joe is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, the West Lafayette Rotary Club, the National Association of Social Workers and the Indiana Farm Bureau. He is a Junior Achievement volunteer in his children's school, and coaches youth baseball and
basketball.
