| Info | Bob grew up in New Bern and graduated from New Bern Senior High School. He is married to Amy Sebastian Brinson, and they have three grown children.
Alderman Brinson is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, and the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Master of Public Administration. After his graduation from West Point, Bob was commissioned in the United States Army in the Aviation Branch. His military career took him all over the United States and around the world. When it came time to transition out of the military, Bob once again made New Bern his home.
Bob and Amy are members of Union Point Church. Bob has been active in the New Bern community by serving as Vice Chairman of the Craven County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, as Treasurer of the Craven County Veterans Council, and as Judge Advocate for American Legion Post #539. He is also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2514, the New Bern Chamber of Commerce, and the New Bern Military Alliance.
