Info | Henry Joy of Island Falls represents District 9 in the Maine State Legislature. House District 9 includes the towns of Bancroft, Crystal, Dyer Brook, Haynesville, Hersey, Island Falls, Linneus, Ludlow, Merrill, Mt. Chase, New Limerick, Oakfield, Patten, Sherman, Smyrna, Stacyville, Weston and Macwahoc and Moro Plantations. This is Rep. Joy’s sixth term in the House of Representatives; he served in the 116th through the 119th Legislatures, and after a break returned for the 121st Legislature. He is a member of the Natural Resources Committee.
Rep. Joy is a retired educator, having received his Masters Degree from the University of Maine/Orono. He served five years in the United States Air Force. He is currently a member of the Maine Association of Retirees, the Oakfield American Legion, and the Island Falls Fish & Game organization.
Rep. Joy and his wife, Mary, have four children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. If he has any time for hobbies they are golf, gardening and photography.
