Info | Senator Bruce Bryant was first elected to the Senate in the year 2002 after having served 6 years in the House of Representatives. He is currently serving his second term in the Senate. The Senate President appointed Senator Bryant to Chair the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee. He also serves on the Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry Committee. While in the House of Representatives, he served on the Business and Economic Development Committee, Natural Resources Committee, Utilities and Energy Committee, and the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee. Senator Bryant has also served on a multitude of legislative task forces and study commissions, including many that lead to him introducing subsequent legislation.
Senator Bryant is a lifelong resident of Oxford County, being born and raised in the Town of Canton where he lived with his parents and nine brothers and sisters. He has worked extensively on economic development efforts in his district and is a past-president of UPIU - Local 900, founding president of the River Valley Technology Center, is founding vice-president and current board member of the Fractionation Development Center in Rumford. Bruce is also a member of the Webb River Sportsmen’s Club, the River Valley 4-Wheeler Club, the Mahoosuc Land Trust and the Eagles Club.
When the Senator is not in Augusta working for the people of District 14, he can be found working hard as a boiler operator at the NewPage Paper Mill back in his district where he has worked for more 25 years.
Bruce is the proud father of three daughters and lives in Dixfield, Maine. He coaches his daughters’ sports teams, plays basketball, softball, horseshoes and cribbage. He also enjoys growing Ginseng and being in the outdoors with his family.
Senate District 14 includes the municipalities and unorganized territories of Andover, Bethel, Buckfield, Byron, Canton, Dixfield, Gilead, Greenwood, Hanover, Hartford, Hebron, Lincoln Plantation, Lovell, Magalloway Plantation, Mexico, Milton Twp., Newry, North Oxford Twp. (includes Bowmantown Twp., Oxbow Twp., Parmachenee Twp., Lynchtown Twp., Adamstown Twp., Richardsontown Twp., Upper Cupsuptic Twp., Lower Cupsuptic Twp., Grafton Twp., Riley Twp., Township C, Andover North Surplus, Andover West Surplus, C Surplus), Peru, Roxbury, Rumford, South Oxford Twp. (includes Albany Twp., Mason Twp., Batchelders Grant), Stoneham, Stow, Sumner, Sweden, Upton, Waterford, West Paris and Woodstock in Oxford County;and the municipality of Jay in Franklin County.
