InfoAfter earning his B. A. degree at the University of Washington in 1967, Deryl McCarty began a 30-year career in the U.S. Airforce. He retired a full Colonel January 1, 1998. With more than half of his service overseas, Deryl is a Vietnam era veteran and saw duty in Iraq during the Gulf War.

Deryl and his wife of 34 years, Paula, are partners in a computer sales and repair company located on South Hill. They have two sons, Chistopher, 32, and Colin, 29.
