| Info | An entrepreneur and businessman, Peter Lupia has been an El Paso County and Colorado Springs resident since 2000 when his family permanently relocated, adding to a local familial heritage that now spans five generations. Peter grew up in an Air Force family, the son of an AFA graduate and Major General (ret), spending high school at Ramstein AFB in Germany and his first year of college in Munich, playing semi-professional soccer within the German league. Living and traveling extensively in Europe during the time of the Cold War, Peter had the opportunity to spend time both behind the Iron Curtain and in third world developing countries where he witnessed firsthand the trappings of socialism, communism, monarchies, and their various adulterations. Those learning experiences, and an encounter with President Ronald Reagan, cemented his lifelong commitment to the American Republic and ideals of our Founding Fathers.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Tampa, with concentrations in Marketing, Finance, and Business Administration, and served as a graduate assistant to the Dean while undertaking MBA coursework focused in International Business. While still in graduate school Peter was a founding partner of an advertising agency and following his academic work began a near decade long career within the public and non-profit sectors as a highly specialized liaison for the development, implementation, operation, and oversight of multi-million dollar local, regional, and statewide programs. Since relocating to Colorado, Peter successfully launched entrepreneurial endeavors in real estate valuations and security technology as well as serving in long-term chief officer roles for consulting clients whom he helped guide to industry leading stature across a wide variety of industries. Always active within the community, Peter has served on numerous local, regional, and national boards and advisory committees for non-profit, education, and ministry organizations. Currently, he serves grassroots and constitutionally conservative interests as a member of the El Paso County GOP executive committee and CO GOP state central committee.
A foundational cornerstone of Peter’s life occurred in Spring 2007 when he and his children were involved in an approximately 120 mph head-on collision with a drunk and stoned driver while returning from a ski trip on Highway 24. The tragedy resulted in traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, and injuries involving years of surgeries, medical therapies, and financial turmoil. Peter readily acknowledges that only divine intervention preserved his and his children’s lives. Now fully healed, Peter embodies a victorious spirit coupled with a focus on overcoming challenges, persevering, and encouraging others through trials.
Peter and his beautiful wife Elizabeth are in their 30th year of marriage and have two adult children. Through all his life experiences, inclusive of both triumph and adversity, Peter has learned the importance of wisdom, discernment, service to others, and fortitude that he credits solely to his Lord & Savior. He aims to employ these attributes by serving El Paso County as its next Clerk & Recorder.
