| Info | When 13 elms were taken from my street’s boulevard, I started advocating for our parks, serving on boards, committees, task forces through volunteering and chairing. I am an active user of our parks. As a former runner and triathlete, I now row on the Mississippi two to three times a week in season, walk with my friends two to three times a week all year round and bike with my women friends WOWOW (Women on Wheels on Wednesdays) and occasionally without them.
Formerly, Youth Director at the YWCA and Associate Director of Project for Pride in Living, I am a Realtor (now over 40 years) and a graduate of the UofM. Grateful to be married to a wonderful man who is a poet with 3 adult children and 4 grandchildren. We are fortunate to have experienced so much of this world first hand. It has given us a perspective and appreciation of our natural world here at home. I am a Fourth Generation Minneapolitan. My great-grandfathers worked at St Anthony Falls—one as a miller and the other as a millwright. My grandmother was instrumental in establishing Linden Hills Park. I am the oldest elected official in the City of Minneapolis, hence, representing over 20% of City’s population.
