| Info | Musician and entrepreneur, Ian McKinnon was born and raised in the riding of Halifax Atlantic. Ian grew up in a large family very involved in their neighborhood, church, schools, sports, and music.
Ian graduated with honors from St. Francis Xavier University and then obtained a Masters degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Ian’s leadership and business talents led to the formation of Ground Swell Records, a company promoting and distributing East Coast music artists. He also serves on the board of directors for the East Coast Music Association and Symphony Nova Scotia.
Ian is married to Catherine Craig, a physician specializing in women’s health at the IWK Health Centre. They have two children, Aiden and Mairi.
