Info | Walter Noel served as a member of Newfoundland and Labrador’s House of Assembly for more than fourteen years.
He was first elected to represent Pleasantville District in 1989 and was re-elected in 1993. He was elected in the new Virginia Waters district in 1996 and 1999. He became the province’s Minister for Intergovernmental Affairs on December 15, 1998, Minister of Government Services and Lands on February 13, 2001, and Minister of Mines and Energy on February 17, 2003. Over the years, he has served on most senior cabinet committees.
Mr. Noel has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Memorial University, and is the author of A Response to Our Time. He operated his own business prior to being elected, is a former president of the St. John’s Downtown Development Corporation, and was a founding member of the Virginia Waters Conservation Society.
He is seeking election to the House of Commons because he believes his experience and abilities will enable him to represent the people of St. John’s North effectively. He wants to help provide good government for Canada, and work for change necessary to ensure his province enjoys the opportunities, living standards and quality of public services that citizens want.
