| Info | Scott’s love for Montana runs deep. His connection was forged early when his parents brought him to the Cheff ranch in 1970. After that, there was no looking back for the ten-year-old boy. Every following summer included a solo trip by train or plane to stay with his brother and explore Montana’s mountains, rivers, lakes and streams. Scott knew the state was home and went on to build a successful business and raise a family here.
After receiving his B.A. in Insurance and Risk Management in 1983, Scott dedicated his energy to building a life in Montana. Turning down the chance to take over his family’s fourth generation insurance agency in Michigan, he loaded his pickup and headed for Montana. Traveling eastern Montana and Wyoming as a farm and ranch underwriter with The Travelers Insurance Company in Great Falls, he considered himself the luckiest person alive.
His business sense and entrepreneurial drive led him to purchase a small insurance underwriting business with a partner in Missoula in 1992. Starting with three employees, he grew the business to its current 35 employees.
