| Info | His 34 year career has been dedicated to protecting citizens through service in the field of prosecution.
During that time, Prosecutor Fitz has attended to the following responsibilities: Chief Assistant Prosecutor, Homicide Prosecutor, Senior Assistant in Charge - Narcotics Prosecutions, Circuit Court Trial Attorney, Community Prosecutor, Firearms Prosecutor, Grand Jury Assignment, and Family Court Prosecutor.
His vocation has placed him in the midst of over 100 homicide investigations/prosecutions. He has also handled a large volume of life penalty jury trials including numerous sex offense and armed robbery crimes.
Prosecutor Fitz has also successfully argued for the prosecution in the Michigan Supreme Court.
This knowledge and experience has allowed Prosecutor Fitz to establish a determined and effective staff of trial attorneys to serve Cass County citizens. Under his guidance, they secure a high percentage of guilty verdicts and provide for a just and safer community.
During the past decade, the Cass County Prosecutor has teamed with law enforcement on four separate occasions to pass a county-wide Anti-Drug Millage. These voter initiatives have been instrumental in stemming the methamphetamine tide in Southwest Michigan.

The Cass County Prosecutor has previously served in Muskegon (1988-2003), Tuscola (1983-1988), and St. Clair (1982) Counties. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from Valparaiso University.
