Info | I am Tommy Bryan and I am a candidate for the Republican nomination for the Court of Civil Appeals.
I hope that in the coming weeks and months Alabamians will learn more about me. I hope they learn:
I am conservative,
I believe in judicial restraint and in a strict construction of the constitution and statutes of our state,
I believe that the Court system's number one function is fairness and that there must be an equal playing field for all who enter through the doors of justice,
I believe in personal responsibility and hard work,
I have a deep sense of Christian responsibility to treat others as I would want to be treated.
Our family, just like the overwhelming majority of Alabamians, believes that this state and nation must return to a moral foundation upon which this country was based, fought for and defended. Just like the citizens of this great state, I am family-oriented. I am blessed with a wonderful wife and life partner and we are blessed with two beautiful, wonderful children, Thomason and Tucker. Our responsibility for those two lives are two of the principle reasons I am entering this race, so that all of our children, all of Alabama's children, will have a better Alabama through a better court system.
I grew up on a family farm in Crenshaw county. There I watched the labor of my father as he worked hard in the fields of South Alabama to provide a living for our family. My mother worked as a textile worker and I know the demanding pace she set - no one could out work my mom. I have experienced first hand how hard work, toil and sweat, commitment and long hours are how the people of Alabama earn a living every day. My parents and our neighbors taught me this.
My work ethic is your work ethic. As your judge, I will devote every single day to the basic fairness, integrity and efficiency you would expect from those who you have entrusted to make this state a better place to live.
The life I seek is one of searching for God's purpose in my life and doing His will. I believe He has led me here today. One of my favorite verses from the Bible comes from Psalm 25:10. It reads: "And when we obey Him, every path He guides us on is fragrant with his loving-kindness and truth." It is my prayer that this campaign season will be showered with the fragrance of His loving-kindness and truth.
It is with great humbleness, but strong conviction, that I ask for your vote for the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals. I look forward to meeting the good folks of our state over the coming months. I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail!
