Info | Born and raised in Montreal, Canada, she moved to Los Angeles in 1984, finished school, learned English and Spanish, and started her own business with her husband by selling mattresses at local swap meets. She opened the first of five Beds Unlimited stores in 1988. Together, with her son, Ben, she rebranded the stores as Blissful Sleep, and it has become one of the most successful mattress stores reaching across the Santa Clarita, Simi and San Fernando valleys as well as much of metropolitan Los Angeles. Lucie is an active member of eight chambers of commerce. She has won numerous awards for volunteer work that supports the residents over a wide geographical area such as with Habitat for Humanity and the Special Olympics. Finally, she used her passion and skills to start the nonprofit Lapointe Etiquette to help underserved adults.
