Info | Leslie Peeler
Born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia, Leslie Peeler is one of four children. She grew up in a family dedicated to public service. Her father was a veteran and worked as a sheet metal mechanic for decades at both the federal and local government level. After several years of being 100% dedicated to managing the home front, her mother has served the public in a variety of roles at the state level and for the schools. All of her siblings have been involved in public service – in the military, local government, schools, and at faith-based organizations. The importance of using talents to serve others was instilled from an early age.
In 1992, Leslie Peeler was awarded an undergraduate degree in Economics from George Mason University and is currently working towards a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Policy at American University. She is a proven senior executive leader of Fortune 50 companies in financial services, housing, and technology, and is a local business owner. Additionally, Peeler has extensive experience working with government agencies on policy development and implementation on complex issues.
Leslie has been happily married to her husband, Jim Peeler, for 22 years. They share 2 children; Jameson (Guyer HS Class of 2018), and Tessa (Guyer HS Class of 2020). The Peelers have been residents of Bartonville for 5 years, and have spent 10+ years living in Denton County. They are longtime members and supporters of Lantana Community Church.
Leslie is a Reformed Former Republican – principled and progressive on social issues and fiscally responsible. She is an achiever, driving desired outcomes by listening, collaborating on strategy, and arranging, assembling and drawing the best out of great teams. Peeler is committed to bringing fresh eyes and perspectives on issues ranging from employment, education, equality, the environment, personal enablement, and the economy.
