| Info | Carol Birch, was elected Arun District Councillor in May 2023 following being Aldwick Parish Councillor since 2019.
Chair of Housing and Wellbeing. As a Parish Councillor she has made a difference through installation of solar panels on the parish office building, trees planted across the parish and has been a vice chair of the Aldwick Parish Planning committee. Carol works in social housing leading a team of specialists in benefits and tenancy support. In the Green Party she has been a key member of the team that has successfully elected 6 Arun district councillors who have in turn been able to make a valuable difference in Arun but there is much more to do. Carol, as an Arun District Councillor, is working towards a more sustainable local plan as it is reviewed. There are five key areas of policy, amongst many, that make the Green Party better for Arun. Renationalise the water companies, the only way to ensure your money goes to treat sewage not to someone else's back pocket. Stop the privatisation of the NHS. Build houses in the right place at the right price, including social housing. Fund the Environment Agency to ensure flood prevention works for Arun. Introduce Proportional Representation to ensure everyone's vote counts. She will also approach each decision to evaluate for Climate and Environmental impact and whether it will reduce the impact of the Cost of Living for voters.
