Info | Growing up, my family moved around until finally settling in Wyoming. I worked for years as a waitress in Laramie to put myself through college. I came to Colorado for law school and from that point on, I got the privilege to call this great Centennial state my home!
I began my career in Aurora as a City Prosecutor, where my caseload reflected domestic violence and those marginalized by abuse. This experience allowed me to fight for victims, not allowing their abusers to walk away with impunity.
In 2008, I was appointed the Littleton City Attorney. After three years of service, I lost my job the day I filed a complaint against a municipal judge who sexually harassed me. It wasn’t an easy decision but I knew that I was not the first and certainly not the last if I didn’t speak up. I know what its like to wake up and not have a job. I didn’t give up and I told my story. There was probably nobody more surprised than me when a few months later I was appointed Deputy Secretary of State under Scott Gessler and later Wayne Williams.
I continued to advocate for victims of harassment and in 2017 I testified at the legislature on behalf of a bill to open up public records to harassment victims.
