LEWIS, KENNETH A.
"COUSIN KEN"
Died Wednesday, April 15, 1992, at his residence in Baton Rouge. He was 79, a native of Towanda, Pa., and reared in Binghamton, N.Y. He was retired owner of Kenneth Lewis Insurance Agency. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., 8 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 9 a.m. Saturday, conducted by Father Louis Oubre. Graveside services at Reeves Chapel Cemetery, Raymond, Miss., at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, conducted by Father Noel Pendergast. Survived by wife, Gloria Maria Lewis, Baton Rouge; a daughter, Susan Lewis Presser, Winston-Salem, N.C.; a son, Paul A. Lewis, Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Harriet Gettman, Albuquerque, N.M.; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Jennifer Lewis, both of Asheville. Preceded in death by first wife, Mabel Wright Lewis. He was a member of St. Louis King of France Catholic Church and a former member of Capital City Kiwanis Club. He received a bachelor of science degree in political science at LSU in 1938. He was an active participant in Louisiana politics for many years, having entered the gubernatorial race in 1975 and 1979, the Public Service Commissioners 3rd district race in 1980, the East Baton Rouge Assessor's race in 1963 and the Louisiana House of Representatives race in 1959.
