| Info | Josh has almost 14 years of prosecutorial experience and has spent his entire career fighting for victims to find justice, working to keep our communities safe and our justice system fair.
His experience includes prosecuting thousands of cases, from misdemeanors to homicides. He has tried over a hundred jury trials including murders, sex assaults, organized crime cases, elder abuse and crimes against children.
Josh graduated from the University of Missouri-School of Law in Columbia in 2004 and began his career in service prosecuting cases in three different counties along the Mississippi River. He spent his time working to keep these small, rural and suburban communities safe. He and his family moved to Colorado in 2006 and have called Jefferson County home for 13 years.
In 2007, Josh joined the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office (Adams/Broomfield Counties) and spent over 10 years prosecuting cases. In 2011, Josh was a member of a multiple agency taskforce that was awarded the Colorado Auto Theft Investigators “Investigation of the Year” for taking down an organized criminal group of six primary targets and numerous associates. This effort involved 68 separate cases in numerous Colorado jurisdictions. While in the 17th, Josh was on the management team where he advised and led junior attorneys, support staff and investigators. He was a liaison to various law enforcement agencies. In addition to his management experience he helped shape practices and policies designed to create more transparency in the office.
In 2018, the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office welcomed Josh home to Jefferson County to continue his service. Since joining the office, Josh has prosecuted hundreds of cases resulting in convictions that range from first degree murder to felony DUIs.
