Info | I'm Dave Palm, Born in Denver,a 4th generation Colorado native. Mom and Dad moved the family from Wheat Ridge to Arvada in 1960 where I started the 4th grade at Secrest Elementary . My parents built here in order to be closer to the Dow Chemical Co., Rocky Flats nuclear weapons plant where my Dad retired after 35 years.
I attended North Arvada Jr. Hi, and Arvada High School (Redskins) and graduated in 1969.
My working life has spanned a variety of occupations ranging from Car Sales to IT Systems Administrator, from multi-family property management to small business owner here in Arvada (as well as a 6 year span of being "homeless" on the streets). I'm the father of 1 adult son, Matt , with whom I co-own Hackberry Hill Communications. I first became a "citizen activist" as president of a organization I organized to "Save Our Arvada Redskins" about 20 years ago. Then 4 years ago I ran for city council from District 2 because I saw a need to get a handle on the hundreds of millions of dollars in future tax revenue that is being diverted in order to give incentives to developers to build projects that would not be feasible otherwise.Since then, the problems have only gotten worse. All city council votes are still 7 - 0. Nine acres of olde town selling for $30 to build a 7 story, high density apartment building. The list goes on and on.
Common Sense, Good Stewardship, and Respect for Citizens is what I pledge, and if elected, I would be proud to be the citizens "seat at the table".
