| Info | Larry Coor is an Arizona native. He was born on November 16, 1932 in Phoenix. He is the oldest of
three children and attended public schools in Avondale, Litchfield Park, and Phoenix Arizona. He
graduated from American College in Greece with a Bachelor of Business degree, and earned a
Masters in Counseling from Ball State University.
Larry served from 1953 to 1973 in the United States Navy. He completed flight training in 1954 and
served as a Naval Aviator until 1973. He served in Viet Nam and in the Western Pacific during
portions of 1961 through 1966. He worked as a civilian employee of the U. S. Navy at Naval
Communications Station Nea Makri, Greece 1974 though 1976. Larry entered the United States
Foreign Service (Diplomatic Corps) in 1976 and served as a Foreign Service Officer until 1993. He
served in the Middle East, Mexico and Europe.
Larry has been employed as an adjunct faculty member at Estrella Mountain Community College and
Western International University. He instructs History, Social Studies, and Contemporary Europe.
Larry is married to Joan Coor. The couple has one son, Mark and two daughters, Kristen and Merry,
and two grand children.
