Jake Lilly is a distinguished trial attorney with over 120 jury trials to his name. Following a J.D. with a specialization in International Affairs from Cornell Law School in 2003, Jake joined the Army’s Judge Advocate Generals Corp. and volunteered for the 3rd Infantry Division and Baghdad. In Baghdad, Jake ran detainee operations for the greater Baghdad area in 2005 where he led over 80 missions through Baghdad and the surrounding areas in order to find and stop Iraqi torture and death camps.

In the Army, Jake served as a Trial Counsel (Felony Prosecutor) and part time Military Magistrate Judge. Jake’s very first trial was a gang rape case and the Defendant was found guilty at Courts Martial. Jake was responsible for cases involving Assaults, Sexual Battery, Drugs, Child Porn and Computer Crimes, DUI, Domestic Violence, Desertion and numerous other areas. He handled General Courts Martial, Special and Summary Courts Martial, Article 15 hearings, and administrative boards. As a Magistrate Judge, he conducted pre-trial confinement hearings, evaluated search warrants, and reviewed investigations.

Jake also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. As a Federal Prosecutor, Jake was responsible for crimes committed by civilians on the military base and prosecuted those civilians in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Jake had previously worked for the feds as an intern in the Executive Office of U.S. Attorneys in Washington, D.C.

Following his military career, Jake served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Eastern Judicial District of Georgia in Savannah where Jake prosecuted DUI, Domestic Violence, Vehicular Homicide, Misdemeanor Traffic and Drug Cases. He handled probation revocation hearings, bail bond hearings, motions, and lots of trials. He also worked in the DUI Court run by Judge Greg Fowler.

Jake then left prosecuting to work as a Litigation Associate at a Top-5 Indianapolis Law Firm where he specialized in civil litigation, white collar criminal defense, and professional liability defense. Jake assisted in defending ordinary citizens from federal prosecutors and professional review boards. He also focused on complex economic cases and defended DUIs and traffic offenses as well.

Finally, Jake transferred to Texas and was an Assistant District Attorney again for the office of the Criminal District Attorney in Fort Worth, Texas. In Texas, Jake prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony cases including Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assaults, Kidnapping, Habitual Offenses, Gun Offenses, Drugs, Animal Abuse and numerous other types of cases.

Jake currently is the President of his own criminal defense firm, Triple L Law PC, in Lakewood and defends felony, misdemeanor, and municipal cases in all of the counties in the greater Denver Area.

Jake started working in politics at 16 and has worked as a U.S. Senate Page and worked for Senator Paul Sarbanes of Maryland, a political action committee, the Bill Clinton White House, and the military’s think tank, RAND. Jake has worked on a number of campaigns and has served as a voter protection attorney for the Colorado and Indiana State Democratic parties.
