InfoBorn and raised on a Hardin County family farm, Steve Meredith acquired an "agriculture personality" both by circumstance and choice. With a fond and early devotion to 4-H and the Future Farmers of America (FFA), Steve began to cultivate talents as a premier agriculture communicator.

After graduating first in his high school class, Steve served the Kentucky FFA Association as State President and then during the 1984-1985 year, he served as National FFA President. With his FFA experience and his American Farmer Degree completed, Steve graduated with honors from University of Kentucky with a degree in agriculture economics.

Continuing his lifelong commitment and service to the industry, Steve served the Young Farmer Education Association as 1989 national spokesperson for agriculture. In 1990 the American Farm Bureau Young Farmers witnessed Steves leadership as the national discussion winner in Orlando, FL. From the classroom, to the speakers podium and into the field, Steve was developing his interests in production agriculture with his own farm program emphasizing grain, hay, cattle and tobacco.

Pursuing a lifelong interest in horticulture, in the early 1990s Steve began limited flower production on his farm. Today, Steve and his 13 year old son Alex produce potted, hanging and bedding plants for wholesale and retail customers across Kentucky.

Steve also taken his horticulture knowledge and experience to the classroom, as a certified agriculture educator in Hardin County.

Steve Merediths varied interests are reflected by his personal involvement in a diversity of organizations. The Kentucky Cattlemens Association, The KY Young Farmers, Farm Bureau, Life Member FFA Alumni Association, the University of Kentucky Agriculture Alumni, Parent Teacher Association, the Nature Conservancy, Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Central KY and the Kentucky Education Association are among his affiliations.

Steves speaking skills and national image made him the natural choice from 1998-2000 as a spokesman for Agribusiness Group, Inc., conducting seminars throughout the United Sates and Canada. Clients repeatedly offered their positive evaluations for his knowledge of, and his very sincere approach to agricultural issues.

Consistent with his belief that the agriculture community must work with non-agriculture communities, Steve has served as the Ag Education Consultant to the American Cave Conservation Association (ACCA) in Horse Cave, KY. He has also conducted many seminars to educate farmers on the care of karst, groundwater and other environmental resources. His work reflects his desire to build bridges to protect and promote the future of agriculture.

Today, Steve continues to speak to many farm groups, delivers positive and educational messages to the non-farm public and very aggressively promotes agriculture at every opportunity. A talented and strong communicator with a diverse agricultural background is a rare commodity, but this combination of talents has allowed Steve the opportunity to host a farm and garden program for educational television.

Steves real life farm experiences and outstanding communication skills place him in demand as a speaker throughout the country.

Optimistic about the future of Kentucky agriculture, Steve promotes his belief that traditional agriculture must also embrace horticulture, aquaculture and the equine industry to solidify the political, social and economic powers of our industry.

Steve Merediths lifelong devotion and efforts to the promotion of agriculture evolved from the family farm and local community to national leadership, and now back to his native Kentucky as an advocate for the agribusiness industry.
