Katherine L. Craig ran for State Superintendent of Instruction for Colorado in 1904 as the Republican Party candidate. She won over incumbant Helen Grenfell and served from 1905 to 1914. Craig was again elected to the office and served from 1921 to 1923 and 1927 to 1931. In 1910 there were rumors that Craig would be nominated as the Republican candidate for Mayor of Denver.
