Info | Bob Cashell was elected Mayor of Reno in November, 2002. He served as Lieutenant Governor of Nevada from 1982 to 1986, and on the University of Nevada System Board of Regents from 1979 to 1982.
He has over 35 years of entrepreneurial, executive and governmental experience throughout Nevada. He is Chairman of the Board of Cashell Enterprises, a hotel/casino/resort management company. He also owns the Alamo Travel Center and the Topaz Lodge and Casino. In 1967, Bob Cashell and four others purchased a truck stop west of Reno called Bill & Effies. He changed the name of the company to Boomtown, and over the next 18 years oversaw numerous expansions. He sold Boomtown in 1988.
