Info | Judge Brody was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1935. She
received her A.B. from Wellesley College in 1955 and her J.D.
from Columbia Law School in 1958. She served as a Deputy
Assistant Attorney General in New York, then took time out to
raise her children. She was in private practice from 1973 to
1981, and was a Lecturer in Law at the University of Pennsylvania
Law School from 1979 to 1980. From 1981 to 1992 Judge Brody
served as a judge on the Court of Common Pleas, Montgomery
County. On October 20, 1992 she was appointed to the United
States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania by
President George H.W. Bush.
