InfoChristopher L. Caruso, a native of Bridgeport, was elected as a Democrat representing the 126th Assembly District in 1991. Presently, he is Vice-Chair of the Environment Committee, and serves on the Appropriations, and the Government Administration and Elections Committees. Previously Caruso served as Co-Chair for the Subcommittee on Tourism.

Caruso has concentrated on issues affecting urban areas, youth, school improvements, funding for mental health, arts and entertainment, and the environment. He later received the Citizen Leader Award from the Mutual Housing Association of Southwestern Connecticut for his commitment to the spirit and principles of mutual housing, and his willingness to extend himself personally and professionally. He was selected as "Man of the Year" in 1994 by The Roma Club in recognition of his tireless efforts towards the youth and the betterment of the City of Bridgeport. In addition, Caruso received the 1997 Champion of Arts/Entertainment/Tourism from the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce.

Caruso has been a member of the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee since 1981 serving as the Town Chair from 1986 to 1988. In addition, he served on the Bridgeport City Council from 1983 to 1991. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and later attended St. Vincents School of Radiology.
