Info | Member of the European Parliament since 2009 and one of two (along with Bas Eickhout) European Green Party candidates (Spitzenkandidaten) elected at their 2018 Congress for the presidency of the European Commission this year, replacing incumbent Jean-Claude Juncker.
A German national long involved in Green Party politics and the Green Party's European Parliamentary arm, the Alliance '90/The Greens, Keller helped create with co-president, Philippe Lamberts, a division within it called the Greens/EFA Group, using it as a platform to push various Green (and personal) issues. She has been especially engaged in building bridges with Turkey, and identifies herself as best placed to lead the European Parliament in this endeavor.
