| Info | A resident of Los Gatos since 1997, Rob Rennie was electedto the Los Gatos Town Council in November,2014.A BayArea native,Rob spent his formative years in Washington, DC where his stepfatherserved as a General Counsel ofthe President's Council on Environmental Quality. Rob’s motherworked in the Energy Department, asan environmental mediator and also dedicated her professional career to advocating environmental causes.Rob holds the following degrees and credentials:Masters of Engineering, Thayer School of Engineering, Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., 1991Bachelor of Engineering, Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., 1989Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Physics (double major), Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.,1987; College and Department honors in both majorsCertificate in Engineering Management, Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA., 1998Rob returnedto the Bay Area in 1992 andspent the next 20plusyears working in the semiconductor industry. Henow works to develop products that improve solar energy technology. Rob is along-term member of the Sierra Club. During his tenure he served in the following capacities:Political Committee Member -Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club from 2006 to 2012and a Committee Co-Chair from 2007 to 2011Executive Board Member from 2007 to 2013 and a Vice Chair from 2009 to 2011 Organized and led the Sierra Club Cool City team in Los Gatos to raise awareness of Climate Change and get our Towntosignthe Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement in 2007Additionally, Robvolunteered as an Acterra Home Energy Auditor conducting home assessments and suggestingthe energy saving solutions to the residents ofSanta Clara County. He also continues to serve asa Creek clean up volunteer.Over the years,Rob has beenactive in anumber of community organizations.Hiscommunity service includes Los Gatos Morning Rotary, where he co-chairsthe Plein Air Fine Art Exhibit Event Committee and is now President Elect for 2015/2016.Every year Rob also enjoys servingas a discussiongroupco-leader at Rotary’sEnterprise Leadership Conferences designed to teachhigh school juniorsto developleadership skills and build a business.Robserved on the board of the Los Gatos Community Foundation. As a Member of the Los Gatos Beautification Committee,hevolunteersfor Saturday Town clean-ups.
Rob also served4 years as a Member of the Parks Commission including one year as a Commission’s Chair and still serves as aCommunity Emergency Response Team Member (CERT) and Captain for the Almond Grove Neighborhood. Rob and his wife Isabella have a grown daughter,Alena, who is a DJ andmusic producer in Chicago. Isabella dedicated her professional life to helping refugees, seniors,andthe disabled.In his spare time Rob enjoys playing soccer, bicycling,and walking the family dog,Fiona.
