Townsend; reelected to the Fifty-second and Fifty-third Congresses and served from December 2, 1889, to March 3, 1895; elected to the Fifty-sixth, Fifty-seventh, and Fifty-eighth Congresses (March 4, 1899-March 3, 1905); resumed the practice of his profession; died in Loma Linda, San Bernardino County, Calif., November 8, 1923; interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Carmi, Ill.
