| Info | Eleanor Olszewski is a practicing lawyer with a strong background in health, business, and education.
Though she is a lawyer by trade, Elaeanor has a foundation in science and healthcare, having studied pharmacy at the University of Alberta. She was called to the Alberta bar in 1982, and has worked in Alberta, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories. Eleanor has since worked as a partner with McPherson Leslie & Tyerman LLP, and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2007. While practicing law, Eleanor has also served as a member of the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Pharmacy as an adjunct professor. In 2013, the Wanderer named Eleanor one of Edmonton’s Top Women in Business.
Eleanor has also been extensively involved with the riding of Edmonton–Strathcona. She sat on the boards of both the Edmonton Opera Association and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, and has served as Chair of the Misericordia Hospital Bioethics Consultative Services. Eleanor has also helped to organize fundraisers on behalf of Edmonton’s homeless shelters, and has performed as an actor with Players de Novo, which helps to fundraise for local theatres and performing arts schools. Eleanor has been actively involved in the legal community, having presented at many seminars and conventions over the years, and has also held positions with the Law Society of Alberta and Canadian Bar Association.”
