InfoI have been MP for Kilmarnock and Loudoun since 2015, proudly representing the area I grew up in.

I have served roles as Transport Spokesperson as well as Energy Spokesperson. Before Parliament dissolution I was trying to introduce a Private Members Bill to provide compensation for the WASPI women, who have been shockingly neglected by both main UK parties.Prior to being an MP, I worked in the water industry for 22 years as a sewerage engineer, latterly being a Principal Engineer at a consultancy firm. I also served as a local councillor from 2007 to 2015, representing the Irvine Valley Ward. I also served roles as Chair of Planning, and had cabinet responsibilities for Housing and Strategic Resources.I have always been invested in my local community. I ran the Irvine Valley Kilmarnock Supporters Club for 25 years and also was chair of Newmilns Gala Committee for a number of years. I still regularly attend Kilmarnock FC matches and other hobbies include walking the dog and beach getaways in a campervan. I am married to Cyndi and have two adult sons, Kyle and Dylan.
