Info | Roisin became involved with the SDLP in 2012 and has made a significant contribution to the rebuilding of the SDLP in South Antrim. In 2013 she was elected vice-chair of the SDLP central executive and in that role has driven the renewal and rebuilding of the SDLP across Northern Ireland. In May 2014 Roisin was first elected as the SDLP Councillor for Antrim Town and serves on Antrim and Newtownabbey Council. Roisin is the SDLP Group Leader on Antrim & Newtownabbey Council.
Prior to her involvement in politics she ran a technology business in the Small Medium Enterprise sector. She is an active volunteer in community and church-based groups. She was Chair of the board of directors of the social enterprise Farranshane Community Trust and chair of St Comgall’s GAA. Roisin currently serves as vice chair and Governor of a local Primary School and was a director on the local mental health drop-in centre, Rehability.
Roisin is a native of Loughgiel in County Antrim, but she has lived in Antrim Town with her husband and family for the last 35 years. She is married to Damien and they have seven grown up children.
