During the summer and fall of 2003, Paul worked as the campaign manager for Colin Fitch, candidate for Washington County judge. Paul is now employed as the executive director of the Washington County Republican Party.
Paul was appointed to a vacant seat on McDonald Borough Council in December 2001. In November 2003, he was elected to his first full four-year term. Paul currently chairs council's parks committee and spearheaded the creation of the borough's first official parks and recreation board.
