InfoIn 2015, Kirsty Blackman became the UK Parliament member for the Aberdeen North Constituency having been elected to parliament with an impressive 56.4% of the vote. Kirsty was re-elected in 2017 and again in 2019, this time with the biggest percentage majority in Scotland.Kirsty has held a number of front-bench roles for the SNP, and was the first woman ever to lead on the Economy in the House of Commons. She was the Depute Leader of the SNP Westminster Group from 2017-2020. She has spoken 1860 times in Parliament.Kirsty and her team have helped folk in Aberdeen North with over 30,000 problems, tackling nearly 70 new issues a week. She has spent a lot of time working with and supporting local charities to best provide help and improve lives in our city.She has campaigned for a fairer Social Security System, a fairer immigration system and for changes to the energy markets to tackle rising costs and reduce inequalities which mean those in energy rich Scotland pay more for power than those in England or Wales. Kirsty wants us all to live in a fairer, more equal Scotland and intends to continue working every day to make this happen.
