My understanding of the Communist Workers Party is that, like most groups in the New Communist Movement, mostly didn't engage in elections under their own banner; the main exceptions were the Communist Labor Party, running a few candidates in California, Michigan, and New York in the 70s, and the Progressive Labor Party before them in the 60s. That said, many NCM groups slowly or rapidly dissolved into the Democratic Party/progressive NGO orbit, and some former members became local political leaders in that sphere. Former Oakland mayor Jean Quan, for example, was also a former CWP member. Still, finding a candidate profile on here for Johnson is somewhat of a lucky coincidence.
