Info | Donjuan L. Williams is a life long resident of Glenarden. He was recognized in 1994 by the Washington Post as "The New Political Guard."
Among the many achievements you find in Mayor Williams resume, an A.A., Liberal Arts from Prince Georges Community College in 1982, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science earned at Salisbury State University in 1983 and a Masters in Administrative Management/Human Resources Management from Bowie State University in 1992 indicate that for all to obtain a quality education is one of his major concerns.
Currently, Mr. Williams is a teacher and trainer at the Univ. of Mayrland, School of Nursing.
Mayor Williams, who served 3 terms on the Glenarden City Council, was re-elected mayor of the City of Glenarden for a third and last term (due to term-limits) in May of 1999. He served as the Director of Community Outreach/Government Relations for the Governor�s Office of Children, Youth and Families, and he previously served as the District Manager for Constituent Services for Congressman Albert Wynn , and as a Social Worker for the Department of Social Services.
In 1997 Mr. Williams was elected President of Maryland Black Mayors, Inc. He also served as the Parliamentarian on the Board of Directors of both the World Conference of Mayors and the National Conference of Black Mayors. During Mr. Willams last year in office he was elected Vice President of the World Conference of Mayors.
He is the founder of D.J. Williams and Associates, a company that provides marketing, management, training, consulting and motivational speaking; specializing in strategic planning, political campaign consulting and business development.
Mr. Williams served as a Legislative Aide to Delegate Sylvania Woods, Jr. Mr. Williams also served as Deputy Campaign Manager to Congressman Albert Wynn and Campaign Manager of Delegate Brenda B. Hughes 25th District of Prince Georges County, Maryland.
Mr. Williams is a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, International Association of Approved Basketball Officials, First Baptist Church of Glenarden, and a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is a participant in various youth mentoring programs.
Mr. Williams is committed to family preservation, serving as an advocate for education funding and accountability, fighting crime, and stimulation of small businesses and economic development.
Mr. Williams was also featured in the 1996 June issue of Ebony Magazine as one of the most eligible bachelors of the year.
