Boustany earned his bachelor�s degree in pre-med at UL Lafayette. He earned his medical degree at LSU in New Orleans and has practiced medicine for 14 years.

He is married to Bridget Boustany and has two children. The youngest is a high school senior, and the oldest is in college.
