InfoAl Salvi is a life long resident of Lake County. Raised in Lake Zurich, Illinois he is a graduate of
St. Francis de Sales grammar school and a graduate of Carmel High School in Mundelein.

In 1982 Al graduated from the University of Notre Dame where he received a B.A. in government and in 1985 graduated from the University of Illinois Law School where he received his juris doctorate.

Al Salvi served two terms in the Illinois House of Representatives (1992-1996). He was re-elected in 1994 with 80% of the vote after establishing a conservative, independent record.

He defeated the Lt. Governor, Bob Kustra, in an upset in the 1996 Republican primary for U.S. Senate but lost to Dick Durbin in the general election.

He is a successful attorney in private practice. He and his wife, Kathy, and six children live in rural Mundelein, Illinois.
