| Info | Tom McNally is the current leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords, having taken over from Shirley Williams.
Elected to the House of Commons in 1979, McNally later shifted to the SDP. He lost his seat after boundary changes in 1983. Later, he was regarded as influential in bringing down the leadership of Charles Kennedy, stating his leadership was lackluster.
