She was first elected to the Senate in 2019 and previously served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates from 2015 to 2019. During her time in Richmond, she has focused on pro-business and progressive causes, while maintaining a commitment to fiscal responsibility.

Additionally, her first job was in the U.S. Senate office of Richard Shelby from her home state of Alabama when he was a Democrat.
A veteran campaigner, Boysko has given her time and talent as a grassroots organizer for dozens of other candidates.
Senator Boysko and her husband, Glenn, have lived in Historic Downtown Herndon since 1996. A leader in the community, she has volunteered with a number of causes including the Herndon Fortnightly Club, the Rotary Club of Herndon, the C4 Board of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia, Herndon High School PTSA Board and Sports Boosters, the Herndon Optimists, St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, and Cornerstones.
She is a graduate of Hollins University in Roanoke, VA and was raised in Alabama and Arkansas.
