Info | Gregg Amore, a history teacher and coach at East Providence High School for the past 22 years, and lifetime resident of East Providence has officially announced his campaign as a Democratic candidate for State Representative in District 65.Mr. Amore resides in the Kent Heights section of the city and is married to Lee Smith Amore. They are the proud parents of Tess and Megan Amore who both attend the city’s public schools.
Mr. Amore holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from Providence College and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from New England College. He serves on the board of directors for the Friends of Townie Athletics, a non-profit fund-raising organization that serves the student athletes of East Providence. He is on the board of directors of the East Providence Education Association and is a frequent commentator for the East Providence Post.
“I love the City of East Providence and the State of Rhode Island and I believe very strongly in public service. Over the past 24 years I have come in contact with thousands of students and their families and have developed a unique understanding of our city’s culture and its needs. Over that same period of time I believe that I have built a reputation as an honest and thoughtful person who is willing to work hard on behalf of my community. I hope to continue to serve that community in the General Assembly if the citizens of East Providence entrust me with such an important responsibility.”
