Marcia Busching grew up in the Midwest, the eldest of three siblings. From childhood she was taught to conserve electricity, gas, telephone, and water, in order to keep costs low and to protect the environment. She continues to be attentive to energy costs and their impact on household finances, and has installed a solar system and other energy efficient devices in her home.
Marcia believes that there needs to be a respectable balance between keeping rates low for Arizona consumers and businesses while providing a fair return for Arizona’s utilities. Her success as a small business owner, attorney, mediator, and community servant will undoubtedly be useful in serving as your representative on the Corporation Commission. She is considered to be a great listener — someone who cares.
Marcia Busching moved to Arizona as she saw the State for its great opportunity, variety, and potential. During her 30 years in the State, she has regularly travelled throughout the State, and loves the diversity of citizenry that has made the State what it is today.
Marcia Busching has dedicated herself to improving the lives of others through community activities, legal representation, education, and mentoring. She has her own law firm that specializes in helping with financial restructurings ranging in size from pro bono work helping individuals to complex commercial and real estate transactions exceeding a half-billion dollars.
Marcia has her BBA, MBA, and JD (Order of the Coif) degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has taken many courses through the Maricopa Community College District.
For the past eight years, Marcia has been a resident of South Mountain Village. She has assisted community organizations, such as Social Venture Partners, Arizona Women in Commercial Real Estate, Arizona Women’s Education & Employment, Community Legal Services, and many others.
A continuing strong believer in preserving our environment, Marcia has long been an enthusiastic supporter of the Desert Botanical Garden, Nature Conservancy, and Rails-to-Trails Conservancy. Marcia has also been active in South Mountain development issues, and has served on the Arizona Liquor Control Board, the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission, and numerous City of Phoenix committees and bond subcommittees,
Marcia is married and has three children, Pete, Toffler, and Carrie.
