| Info | Scott was raised in Shell Knob, MO. He attended Cassville Schools for K-12, and attended the University of Missouri-Columbia for his undergraduate degree, where he earned a BS in Business, with an emphasis in Management. He also studied Finance and Banking while at Mizzou.
In 2003, while still in high school, Scott founded MariCorp U.S. (known as Waterfront Services at the time), a small dock repair business on Table Rock Lake. During high school, the business only operated during the summer. As Scott was close to graduation, he pursued larger projects and eventually secured several. When Scott departed for his freshman year at Mizzou, the company continued to operate with approximately 6 employees with Scott managing from a distance (thanks to technology). Throughout college and upon graduation the company grew from having a few employees and revenues of less than $700,000 in 2006 to having between 40-50 employees and revenues of approximately $6,000,000 in 2011.
During his time in college, Scott became very interested in politics. Upon graduating Scott finished building an elite management team at MariCorp U.S. in order to allow him to seek the seat in the Missouri House of Representatives which is being vacated by incumbent David Sater (term limits). Sater is now pursuing a seat in the Senate.
Scott was raised in a conservative household with conservative ideals. Being the son of a school teacher and an entrepreneur has given Scott a diverse view of life in southwest Missouri.
