Dan spent several years in the financial area, before moving to Hong Kong to become CEO of the highly-regarded Asian Venture Capital Journal. AVCJ also organizes the Global Asian Private Equity and Venture Forum, whose annual conference in Hong Kong has become Asia’s leading growth capital event. Dan and the AVCJ team took AVCJ from near insolvency to one of the region’s premier providers of information on Asia's emerging markets. AVCJ was purchased by a British media company in 2006, and today Dan serves as Chairman Emeritus.
Dan is also Founder, President and CEO of Qiosk.com, “The World’s Newsstand,” one of the pioneers and innovative leaders in digital magazine delivery and media.
Dan grew up in Chicago and studied at Princeton University. He graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy and International Affairs’ undergraduate program. He holds a JD from Boston University and a MBA from Columbia.
Dan served in the United States Army Europe from 1972-1974.11-18-2011_04_26_02PM_1_.JPG

In January 2010, Dan completed his first book, The Future of Finance: How Private Equity and Venture Capital Will Shape the Global Economy. Both this book and Principles of the American Republic are available on Amazon.
Dan is the proud father of two beautiful and successful daughters. Allison, who works with the Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act Campaign; and Dana, who works in the film production business. Dan calls Mesquite and Las Vegas home with his wife Yanan Ding, who heads the Sino-Italian Program for Environmental Protection in Beijing and Shanghai. Dan also lived in Genoa, NV from 2000-2001.
