| Info | Nasif Majeed was born and reared in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended Ligon High School and is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, in Greensboro, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Masters of Science Degree in Agricultural Education. He also earned an Associates Degree in Restaurant Management from the University of Florida.
He served five years in the United States Air Force and is a decorated combat pilot. He was a Captain and Aircraft Commander of a B-52 Bomber and has accumulated over 120 combat missions over North Vietnam. After his military service, he flew as a pilot for Piedmont Airlines. He later served as Aviation Director for the Nation of Islam in Chicago, Illinois.
In 1981 Majeed moved to Charlotte and built a Burger King franchise on Beatties Ford Road. He has served on the board of the Charlotte Housing Authority, Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission, National Council of Christians and Jews, Private Industry Council and was appointed by Governor Hunt to serve on the North Carolina Commission on Education for Economic Growth.
He is a past President of the West Charlotte Merchants Association and Chairman of the Board for the West Charlotte Business Incubator. He served for 14 years as a Chaplain for the NC Department of Corrections. Majeed was elected to four terms on the Charlotte City Council and he is now serving as the President of the American Coalition for Good Government, a national political organization of citizens, elected and public officials who formed with the encouragement of our Leader, Imam W. Deen Mohammed in the late nineties. Imam Majeed is an Associate Imam at Masjid Ash-Shaheed in Charlotte.
He is married to Debra Majeed and the father of five children.
