Info | Alfred Moses was first elected to the Legislative Assembly on October 3, 2011 as the Member for Inuvik Boot Lake. He was then re-elected on November 23, 2015 to his second term. During his first term, Mr. Moses had the privilege to Chair the Standing Committee on Social Programs.
Mr. Moses was born in Fort McPherson, NT in 1977. He currently lives in Inuvik.
Mr. Moses graduated from Samuel Hearne Secondary School in Inuvik and went on to study kinesiology and Sports Studies at Red Deer College in Alberta. He also studied Physical Education at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.
Mr. Moses was elected to the Inuvik Town Council for two years, and has served on various territorial boards. He worked as a Community Health Representative for the Inuvik Health Authority, a First Nation and Inuit Health Branch Tobacco Coordinator for the Department of Health, an Occupational Hygienist and Wellness Coordinator for Diavik Diamond Mines, and a Regional Youth and Volunteer Officer for the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs.
Mr. Moses has volunteered for numerous activities, events and boards before committing to being a Member of the Legislative Assembly.
Mr. Moses’ parents are Martha and Winston Moses, and he has four sisters, four nephews, and five nieces. When he finds time, he enjoys running, hiking, camping, weightlifting and fitness, and reading.
