| Info | Marilissa Gosselin is a bilingual Certified Management Accountant with several years of experience within the private and public sectors. She specializes in cost accounting, contract bidding, budget analysis and forecasting – skills that will be instrumental when dealing with the massive deficit racked up by the McGuinty Liberals. She knows the importance of accountability, something that has been sorely lacking under the Liberal regime.
A graduate of Université du Québec en Outaouais in Finance in 2002, Marilissa earned her Certified Management Accounting designation in 2006. She worked for an accounting firm in Orleans, and for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities before joining Waste Management in 2005. At the age of 26 she was named Pricing Manager for Eastern Canada for Waste Management, making her one of the youngest executives in the Fortune 500 firm.
Marilissa also worked for the Hon. Vic Toews when he was president of the Treasury Board of Canada. As a policy advisor she reviewed Treasury Board submissions to ensure programs were aligned with government’s priorities and developed policies on financial reporting and internal audits to increase transparency and accountability throughout government.
A mother and wife, she is also a committed volunteer teaching young cross country skiers, as well as fundraising for arts councils, volunteering for Franco-Ontario radio, and serving residents of Forest Park as treasurer of the local homeowners association.
Marilissa’s professional experience and her commitment to her community will make her an excellent MPP for the hard-working residents and families of Glengarry-Prescott-Russell.
