| Info | Shannon Sneed is running for City Council in the 13th District, a culturally rich and diverse section of Baltimore. Her experience and talent for building relationships and spearheading large projects will bring fresh energy and momentum to the district.
With ten years of experience as a journalist covering local issues and politics, Shannon is uniquely qualified to bridge the gap between city government and the neighborhoods it serves. She understands how to improve the quality of life for residents by working both inside and outside of government.
In her spare time, Shannon volunteers at Banner Neighborhoods, a non-profit community organization in East Baltimore. Shannon is a dedicated mentor there who has helped with homework, reading and math skills for neighborhood kids for more than two years.
Shannon is a product of Maryland's higher education system, with a Masters degree from Morgan State University and Bachelors degree from University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Shannon is married to Ramond Sneed, and they worship at Celebration Church.
Shannon believes a city councilperson should be responsive and accessible to his or her constituents, and that whoever is elected to public office must also set an example of what it takes to be a leader in the neighborhood.
