Dayan said he has wanted to run for Congress ever since he was a young man growing up in Florida.
"But time and circumstances never permitted me," he said. Now in his mid-60s, he said, "I got to the point in my business life and personal life where I felt I could get involved and do the patriotic thing."
Dayan is owner of S. Dayan and Associates, a Macon-based financial services company and owns and manages 250 rental units in Bibb and Houston counties.
During more than a quarter century living in Middle Georgia, Dayan has built an extensive record of civic service: active in Kiwanis Club, member of the Bibb County Democratic Executive Committee, past president of Volunteer Macon and member of the Macon Association for Retarded Citizens, Classroom Teachers Association, Better Business Bureau of Middle Georgia and other groups.
He says his business experience will enable him to handle taxpayer dollars well, and to keep the nation strong.
Dayan said he has campaigned throughout the district, speaking to civic groups or meeting voters individually.
